You’re getting ready to order your bunk bed and have chosen your style, size, stain… it’s exactly what you want! But there’s one big decision left to make, and it might be the most important: ladder placement.
Choosing the side you want your ladder could greatly affect where and how you can use your bunk bed in your space. And since there is no industry standard in naming conventions, the way Fireside Lodge handles it can differ from other manufacturers.
So, let’s take a closer look at how we do it to clarify which is which and make sure you receive the version you need!
At Fireside Lodge, we consider the side with the ladder to be the “footboard” of the bunk bed. We determine ladder left/right by looking at footboard and which side of the footboard houses the ladder (if on the left side, it is ladder left; likewise, if on the right, it is ladder right).
As you can see, if you intend to place your bunk bed in the corner of a room or have a large piece of furniture on one side of the bed, the ladder placement becomes a big deal unless you want to use a trampoline to reach the top bunk!
